By default, protected application is permanently activated on remote machine.

If installed on another computer protected application will generate different site/mid codes and ask for new activation code. However, if you are renting or leasing your software or just want to force your client to contact you for new activation code from time to time this is not acceptable behavior.

Limited license feature provides ways for additionally restricting license usage.

There are four different limitations:

1) LICENSE VALIDITY PERIOD (number of days from activation) (mandatory)

License will expire xxx days after activation.

2) FIXED DATE LIMITATION (fixed license validity period) (optional)

License will be valid only during limited period of time from start (Valid from) to expiration (until) date.

3) NUMBER OF RUNS LIMITATION (number of runs from activation) (optional)

Licensed application can be run only a limited number of times.

4) DAY OF THE MONTH LIMITATION (monthly expiration on a specific day of the month) (optional)

Licensed application can be run only a limited number of times.

If enabled, application will expire on specific day of the month.

limited license feature options

NOTES:

- Default license validity (number of days) should be set to 31 day in case day of the month limitation is enabled.

- License will expire as soon as one of enabled limitations is reached.

- Protected application will generate different Site/MID codes and ask for new activation code after license expires.

- Protection code is tracking system time. Set "Reset license in case of invalid system time" option accordingly to your preferences.

- Set "Display license expiration counter" option if you want license expiration counter (number of days left and number of runs left) to be displayed on activation dialog box.

- By default, activation dialog will be displayed on each startup. Enable "Special key pop-up enabled" option to let your client choose when to invoke activation dialog by toggling special keys before running protected application.

- If required, displaying threshold can be set and in this case protected application will start displaying activation dialog with license expiration counters on each run xxx days before license expiration. In case special key pop-up option is enabled activation dialog can be invoked even before this option is triggered (by using appropriate special key).

- If 'Re-enable demo mode after license expiration' is enabled, protected application will revert to demo mode with default demo limitations (stored inside protected application) after license expires.

- Enable 'Reset limited license for this update' to reset existing limitations for new update.
